Self-check-in means that guests can enter the accommodation without the landlord or reception staff being present. Within the specified check-in time, guests can enter freely based on the existing facilities of the housing using the following methods:
- Password key box
- Smart lock
- Password lock
- Keys or door openings are provided by a 24-hour service building manager (such as a doorman or front desk personnel)
For accommodations requiring self-check-in, the host will send additional information about the check-in process (such as where the key is located and the password). However, due to safety concerns, some hosts may only provide information about entering the room, such as the key, one to three days before the check-in date.
This is a common check-in method for overseas accommodations in Japan and South Korea. Please pay attention to the email or instant messaging provided when booking. If you have not received additional check-in information from the host one day before check-in, please get in touch with us. Thank you!
